Dentistry

1. About the Department :

Dentistry is a branch of medicine that is involved in the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, commonly in the dentition but also the oral mucosa, and of adjacent and related structures and tissues, particularly in the maxillofacial (jaw and facial) area.

 

The objectives of the department of Dentistry is to provide patient-centered quality dental care, undertake research programmes in basic and applied oral health sciences and to provide leadership in dental education. The department is running a general OPD daily from 9am to 4 pm. Annual outpatient of the OPD on an average is 12000. A team of dedicated and committed dental professionals of the department provide all kinds of specialty dental treatment to the masses. They also provide oral health care to underprivileged and differently abled patients.

 

Since its establishment the department has been involved in teaching of undergraduate medical student’s in dentistry. The students are taught the basic principles of dental care through lectures, tutorials, discussions and clinical training. The students are provided with the opportunities to actively participate in patient care, research and are exposed to various kinds of unusual and rare cases during their posting. The department is committed to developing challenging curricula and provides the resources and support to the budding health professionals to learn best practices, develop new skills, and contribute to progress of medical and dental health.

 

At present we are providing general dentistry and specialty treatment under the guidance of Specialists like Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, and Endodontist. Our approach towards patient care and management is rooted in the belief that a team is always stronger and better than an individual. As a department we have brought together all our skills and knowledge and aim towards learning from each other so that we are able to provide best treatment to our patients.

 

Integrated dental care with state of the art equipment to patients inclusive of all specialties of dentistry amalgamated at a single center. Research aimed at developing better and low cost diagnostics and treatment to the masses. Community outreach inculcating best preventive practices regarding dental ailments.
