Pathology

1. About the Department :

          Pathology is the study (logos) of disease (pathos). It mainly deals with the study of the structural, biochemical, and functional changes in cells, tissues, and organs in disease which can be diagnosed by using  molecular, microbiologic, immunologic, and morphologic techniques,

          Pathology explain the whys and wherefores of the signs and symptoms manifested  by patients while providing a rational basis for clinical care and therapy. It thus serves as the bridge between the basic sciences and clinical medicine, and is the scientific foundation for clinical  medicine.

          A pathologist is specially trained to diagnose the disease with the help of various sections available in Pathology such as Hematology, Histopathology, Cytology, Clinical Pathology and Molecular Pathology.

4. Academic activities (UG, PG teaching activities):

U.G: Lecture, small group discussion, DOAP & self directed learning classes are  taken & periodic assessment are carried out according to RGUHS curriculum in CBME pattern.

P.G: Subject Seminar, Journal club, Slide seminar, Specimen discussion, periodic assessment are carried out according to RGUHS curriculum.
